Name: Dobro Hound Dog Deluxe Dobro Acoustic – Vintage Brown
(4.5 / 5)
The Dobro Hound Dog, what a lovely looking guitar this is with it’s resonator plate.
A wood version of the Dire Straits album cover Brothers in Arms!
If you are starting out and want a very versatile instrument this is exactly the one you want.
Our first impression is what a sweet looking guitar, one I would defiantly love to own.
The guitar plays ok out of the box and we were very pleased with the resonator. The body is made from Mapel which looks gorgeous and the neck is mahogany. The resonator is a Dobro Cone and the final colour is hand-rubbed vintage brown. The guitar comes with dual ‘f’ shaped sound holes which look just the biz.
Unfortunately the stock strings didn’t really do the Dobro much justice in the sound department, we would suggest upgrading your strings as soon as you get the Dobro, you will hear the difference with new strings attached.
The weight of the guitar is slightly heavier than a normal acoustic guitar but we guess you would understand that with the resonator plate on it.
The Dobro is well made and actually appealing to the eye with it’s vintage looks.
If your looking for a guitar with a resonator I would thoroughly recommend this Dobro to anyone. The price is just right and not over the top.

If the Dobro had a decent set of strings out of the box this would be well worth 5 stars, but dont let that put you off, this guitar will have a great tone with the right strings.
